The world of residential real estate is huge -- if you're in the market to buy a home, it could get a bit confusing. Here are some major groups of construction styles that may help sort out some of the differences between commonly used terms. These styles can be operated as various legal entities which also affects the names used. See the Frequently Asked Questions and Ownership Styles pages for additional information. This should not be considered a definitive source, but rather some simple introductions to help you in your home buying process. Always consult the appropriate authorities about legal issues, and always check with the specific development's association for it's own requirements and definitions.
